HAAS auction

Postby sskruzr on Tue Feb 12, 2008 12:59 pm

Don't we need to start putting a list of items going the auction for next month?

I've got 3 silver angels, half dollar body size and a male festivum I'll donate.

I will have some plant cuttings to donate by then. I don't know about a list just yet but probably cabomba, hornwort, and anubias at this point.

What is the date for the auction so that I can get it on my calendar?

I contacted a friend in the native fish business. He is going to donate some fish for the auction. We as a club will need to pick up the shipping costs to get them to us.

If someone could take them that would be best. Please don't underestimate the size of these fish. The bigger one is a good 2 inches thick and 7 or 8 long.

So lets start working on rides to Kansas. Who is going and who has spots available. When are you leaving, when are you planning on coming back, how much space do you have?

Kevin <-- needs a ride.

I want to go, but I will be at a conference most of the week. I don't know if I will be able to go or not. Mostly will depend on how much homework I have at that point.

I'm going, probably early, and taking my pickup that can hold 2 more. I'm taking a few fish and picking up some frmo Denny. Denny how many you sending? Personally, I don't bag the fish until I get there. I keep them in a bucket with plants and air. Josey, I can take your fish but not sure what they would be sold in. I know a lot of people bring boxes or buckets for their purchases but I don't remember anything that big being sold at the last auction. Maybe you could post them on HAAS trading post and work out a deal with someone there ahead of time?

Auction

Postby dennysfishroom on Sat Mar 15, 2008 8:00 am

If you've got the room, I was planning on sending one fish box of my fish. I might have some donations for the club in addition. If the timing works out, I would like to go to the auction. I won't know for sure until the middle of the week before. If I go, I would leave my place around 10am going directly north, and I would probably have room for 2-3. Pretty iffy right now. Denny

Corey,

Since I like to arrive early and stay late, you mind if I ride with you? I will have some stuff to go up, but not much, maybe 2 boxes of stuff, tops.

We can work out a meeting place off-list for the trip up there.

I would think sending Josey's fish up there in a bucket should be fine.

Kevin, sounds good.

Josey, you gonna be able to provide the bucket? You may not get it back depending on the winner. I'll throw the buck in to get it sold early.
